https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...about-mitt-romneys-taxes-hes-still-not-sorry/ Harry Reid lied about Mitt Romney’s taxes. He’s still not sorry. One of the strangest incidents of the 2012 presidential campaign was when then-Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid accused then-Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney of having not paid any taxes over the past decade. That Reid made that allegation from the floor of the Senate made it even odder. The problem with Reid's allegation? It's just not true. We know that, at least in 2011 and 2010, Romney did pay taxes. How do we know that? Because Romney released his tax returns for those years. In 2011, Romney paid $1.9 million in taxes; in 2010, he paid slightly more than $3 million in taxes. Our own Fact Checker gave Reid Four Pinocchios for his "no taxes" claim. PolitiFact gave the claim a "Pants on Fire" rating. Yet Reid (D-Nev.) not only refuses to retract the allegation but also seems to take great pride in it. When pressed by CNN's Dana Bash last year about continuing to defend a statement that is not true, Reid responded, "Romney didn't win, did he?" .....Then there's this from Reid via Terris: Is there a line he wouldn’t cross when it comes to political warfare? “I don’t know what that line would be,” [Reid] said. That is the ultimate statement of political cynicism. What Reid is saying — if you consider the comments to Bash last year and those to Terris recently — is that the ends justify the means in all cases. It doesn't really matter if what he said about Romney's taxes is wrong. All that matters is that Romney lost. That Romney lost is justification enough for Reid to have made the false allegation. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Yes, this is an old news story. However it needs to be presented again to better illustrate and understand the depths that Democrats are willing to go, in order to win an election, particularly a presidential election. It always baffled me a bit in 2016 as to why Hillary Clinton conceded so quickly despite a razor thin loss. Why not ask for recounts, etc, in particular swing states? Finally, I figured out why. Hillary knew that despite the Democrats' effort to rig that election, she still lost. She knew that if it was investigated by the proper authorities, it may have uncovered this voter fraud from the Democrats. So she simply decided to concede rather than possibly expose Democratic Party crimes which would have included her. Democrats learned a lesson from 2016. The lesson wasn't that they should run an honest election. From their leftist perspective, leftists by nature being liars and crooks, the lesson was that they need to engage in even bigger corruption to ensure a win. It certainly appears that's exactly what the Democratic Party has done in this 2020 election. Massive voter fraud on an unprecedented scale in the swing states.
