Greta Van Susteren to leave Fox News after 14 years; Brit Hume named new anchor of 'On the Record'

Ya hate to see a good person like Greta go. But Greta either forgot the way television broadcasting works, or she was simply tired of it all at 62 years old.

Greta over the recent years had been relegated to a less important role in lower rated time slots. While she was still relevant, and still very watchable and likable, I think she overestimated her value with Fox News and it led to her resignation.

Fox News has a boatload of broadcasting talent, and Greta's position at Fox News will be easy to fill. She will be missed, but the facts of broadcast journalism are that she is already forgotten. When I'm in the mood to watch Fox News at 7:00 pm, whether it's Greta or Brit Hume, or look for Martha MacCallum or perhaps a fresh face such as Eboni Williams to take this spot, it really doesn't matter much to me.
